Xavier Admission Test(XAT) Pattern:

Xavier Admission Test (XAT) is conducted for admission to post-graduate degree programmes in management at XLRI, XIM, XISS, LIBA, etc. XLRI is ranked amongst the top five B-school in India and XIM, Bhubaneshwar, is ranked among the top 20 management institutes in India .

The Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur conducts XAT. The advertisement for form appears in late August. The entrance exam is usually held on the first Sunday of January and the interviews are held in March.

XAT is a two-hour paper and usually has 200 questions. The paper divided into three sections and sectional timings are enforced.

Incorrect answer: - 1/3 mark.

In the last 20 minutes, you are expected to write a 250-300 word essay with topics ranging from those of social relevance to propositions to abstract.

Registration:

To register for XAT, candidates have to fill the XAT form that is available online at www.xlri.edu/xat. Once the candidate logs on to this site, a full set of instructions will appear and the candidate can obtain his/her ID and password following them.

This ID and password are to be indicated for all the future correspondence with XAT Office, Jamshedpur . For writing XAT, the candidates should select their convenient cities from the list of city-choices available on the web site.

Eligibility:

For BM and PM & IR programmes, graduates who have completed three years of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by a University or Deemed University are eligible to apply. Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2009 may also apply for XAT-09
For GMP, minimum 5 years of relevant experience after graduation (10+2+3) as on March 31, 2009 is required.

Procedure for Obtaining XAT Bulletin from AXIS Bank and XAT Registration:

1.	A candidate can obtain *XAT Bulletin* from select branches of AXIS Bank on payment of Rs. 800/- (Rupees eight hundred only) AXIS Bank Addresses
2.	Registration for XAT 2009 The candidate has to visit the website www.xlri.edu and go to XAT Registration. Here he/she has to fill in the online XAT form. The information to be provided includes XAT Bulletin No, date, AXIS Bank branch name and personal details. After online submission the candidate will immediately get his/her XAT ID and password.
3.	Once the candidate provides the application details for XAT associate institute he/she can proceed to take printout of XAT Payment Advice cum Photo Form (XAT PP Form).
4.	The candidate has to paste his/her recent photograph and put full signature in the designated space provided on the XAT PP Form. The candidate has to enclose the third copy of the bank ( XAT) pay-in-slip along with the completed XAT PP Form in the special envelope provided in the XAT Bulletin and send it by registered post / speed post / courier within a week of obtaining the XAT Bulletin. Mention your XAT ID and name on the reverse of the Bank pay-in-slip. The last date for receiving the XAT PP Form at XAT office, XLRI Jamshedpur is December 05, 2008.
5.	The candidate has to keep a copy of the printout of XAT ID and password for any modifications to personal details, taking a printout of XAT 2009 Admit Card and for any correspondence with the XAT Office.
6.	The candidate has to go online to www.xlri.edu anytime during during December 18, 2008 and January 1, 2009 and take a print out of the XAT 2009 Admit Card where the Address of the Test Centre will be mentioned.

Procedure for Obtaining XAT Bulletin from XAT Office, XLRI Jamshedpur and XAT Registration:

1.	A Candidate has to make a demand draft drawn in favour of "XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT" for Rs. 850/- (Rupees eight hundred fifty only) payable at Jamshedpur.
2.	Registration for XAT 2009 The candidate has to visit the website www.xlri.edu and go to XAT Registration. Here he/she has to fill in the online XAT form. The information to be provided includes demand draft number, date and personal information. After online submission the candidate will immediately get his/her XAT ID and password.
3.	Once the candidate provides the application details for XAT associate institutes he/she can proceed to take the printout of XAT Payment Advice cum Photo Form (XAT PP Form).
4.	The candidate has to paste his/her recent photograph and put full signature in the designated space provided on the XAT PP Form. Mention your XAT ID and your name on the reverse of the DD. The candidate has to enclose the demand draft along with the XAT PP Form and send it by registered post / speed post / courier so as to reach XAT Office, XLRI Jamshedpur on or before December 05, 2008.
5	XAT office, XLRI Jamshedpur will send the XAT Bulletin after receiving the XAT PP Form & DD.
6	The candidate has to keep a printout of XAT ID and password for any modifications to personal details, taking a printout of XAT 2009 Admit Card and for any correspondence with the XAT Office.
7.	The candidate has to go online to www.xlri.edu anytime during December 18, 2008 and January 01, 2009 and can take a print out of the XAT 2009 Admit Card where the Address of the Test Centre will be mentioned.
